2010 Orbea Orca

Our good friends at Orbea sent us a brand new 2010 Orbea Orca, fully equipped with Shimano’s new Dura-Ace Di2 group, just in time for the Greater Dallas Bicyclists 25th annual Super Bowl Ride.
The new Orca is stunning. At first glance, it looks like Orbea has just thrown some new graphics at the bike, however in addition to the beautiful new graphics, Orbea has mad some really nice changes to the bike.
For 2010 the bike is lighter, stiffer and faster. They did this by changing the carbon lay-up, going to a tapered head tube/fork combo (1-˝ to 1-1/8 inch) and a BB30 Bottom bracket. This makes the bike accelerate faster as well more stable in the corners. Add that to a featherweight frame, and you have a great new rocket ship!
The ride is very smooth (our route was not) and the bike accelerated with the best of them. You should stop by and give my new toy a spin….it is great!
Now for the Di2. As a life long Campy bigot, I was not excited about moving to Shimano. But one ride on the Di2 and I’m a true believer. One long ride on this group, and you too will be hooked. Every shift is lightening fast, accurate and quiet. You just have to ride it to see where the future of road groups is headed, this is the best!
So, if you like a bike that is light, smooth riding on the rough stuff, stable in the corners, accelerates like its been shot out of a cannon and is heavy on styling, the 2010 Orca is for you. Stop by and take mine for a spin!
